Glad you're getting in to Silverberg (or Agberg for short...get it?😁); he was prolific and wrote so many great books! Try "Downward to Earth" and "The Book of Skulls" and his excellent historical novel "Gilgamesh the King."
Yeah, Vanye and Morgaine are two of the greatest characters ever; I've read that series multiple times.
Have you read much Zelazny? Everyone knows him for the Amber series, but he wrote so many great books..."Doorways in the Sand" is tons of fun, as is "Eye of Cat" and the Madwand series. He was one of my favorites as a kid.
You don’t need to, but he was one of my favorite authors as a kid/young man. Zelazny, Agberg, Anderson, Vance, and also Joe Haldeman (The Forever Wat, All My Sins Remembered, Mindbridge) were the ones I read constantly through the late 1970s and into the 1980s.
Heckin' good post. Looking forward to 2026 shenanigans.
I’m on the didir! The ship in being built!
The Dirdir I think is my favourite of the 4!
Patricia Highsmith is one of my absolute favs!
"Just read cool shit" - okie dokie!
BTW, boss move reading your own book.
If I don’t write what I want to read, what's the point?
DMing you an absolute classic sketch that lives rent free in my head

I've read several Silverberg books now, and I've also read the first 5 Amber books but not much else by Zelazny so I do need to
